I question the notion of passive art consumption and am interested in participatory work. I investigate the relationship between performer and spectator, exploring emotional states and the balance between expectation and introspection. I am inspired by the dynamics of this relationship, as well as the ongoing conflicts and resolutions our world offers. I am deeply interested in the intersection of movement, theatricality, video, concept and narration and how these elements can be woven together to invite spectators to identify with the work. My approach to dancing, teaching and creating is intuitive, yet structured, drawing from a range of movement vocabulary and techniques to improvisation. I seek to engage with new ideas and perspectives. My objective is to create work that is authentic, engaging, and accessible, and that encourages to connect with one's own body, physicality, thoughts and emotions. I believe dance has the power to transform individuals, as well as communities and that through creation and performance we can address some of the pressing matters of our lives in this time.
